The Student Chapter of INFORMS,             Oklahoma State University has been conferred the INFORMS Student Chapter Cum Laude Award by  the Chapters/Fora Committee .  The award will be presented at the Chapters/Fora Breakfast at the upcoming INFORMS Annual Meeting in San Diego.

The Student Chapter of Alpha Pi Mu,             Oklahoma State University has been conferred the Outstanding Chapter Award (2nd place) by             Alpha Pi Mu Executive Council. The award is based on the   outstanding achievements of          the chapter  during AY 2008-09.

Dr. Bukkapatnam and Hui Yang of IE&M received IERC 2009 Best Track Paper Award in Manufacturing and Design Section at the IIE ANNUAL CONFERENCE  AND EXPO 2009  in Miami, FL. For more information click here

The team of Marcus Concienne and Mitchel McCowan placed third in the 2009 IIE International student paper competition for undergraduates. Ten regional winners from 7 US regions, Mexico, Canada and South America competed. The competition was held on May 31, 2009 and the results were announced at the IIE annual meeting awards banquet in Miami, FL.

Doctoral students S. Akkarapol, Aisyah Lasarati, and Kerry Melton and undergradaute student Steve Heim of IE&M have been awarded the Material Handling Education Foundation Inc.'s (MHEFI) scholarships for 2009-2010. For further information  click here

Alpha Pi Mu has inaugurated the APM student awards this semester designed to recognize outstanding contributions by IEM students. There are three categories for the awards: Outstanding Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant and Student Leadership Excellence Awards. The winners of the inaugural Spring 2009 awards were presented with  plaques during the industrial advisory board luncheon on April 17, 2009.

The award winners for Spring 2009 are:

• Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award: Sandeep Srivatsan and Alok Jain (Joint Winners)

• Outstanding Research Assistant Award: Prahalad Krishna Rao

• Student Leadership Excellence Award: Caroline Diedrich

Hui Yang, doctoral student of Industrial Engineering and Management Department was among the three finalists for the Phoenix Award, sponsored by the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association. For more information,   click here

The team of Marcus Concienne and Mitchel McCowan placed first in the Student Technical Paper Competition at the 2009 IIE South Central Regional Conference, Feb 27-28, hosted by the IIE student chapter of University Of Oklahoma. The team presented their senior design work with coauthor Doann Nguyen, titled "A Method for Quantifying and Detecting Similar Price Quotation Requests."

Thomas Hong of IE&M has been awarded Alpha Pi Mu Scholarship for 2009.

INFORMS Student chapter of OSU received the Annual Award Cum Laude for the second consecutive time at the INFORMS 2008 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

School of IE&M alumnus, Mr. Donald D.Humphreys (Class of 1971) was
inducted into the CEAT Hall of Fame.                Mr.Humphreys is presently Senior

Dr. Balasundaram placed second in the 2008 Pritsker Doctoral Dissertation Award Competition.
