School of Industrial Engineering and Management alum named Distinguished New Engineer

(STILLWATER, Okla., November 25, 2013) – Lauren M. Wolf, supplier program manager at Boeing and 2009 industrial engineering and management graduate from Oklahoma State, was awarded the Distinguished New Engineer award by the Society of Women Engineers.

IEM Alumnus Featured in Wall Street Journal

Doann Nguyen, an IEM alumnus was featured in the Wall Street Journal in Universum's Top 100 Employers to Work for in the U.S. Doann works for Phillips 66, a prominent recruiter for IEM graduates at OSU, offering many programs during the year for students. OSU IIE Chapter Wins Gold Award for 2013-2014

The Institute of Industrial Engineers Student Chapter at OSU has completed the requirements to be recognized as a Gold Chapter for IIE. This is the highest recognition awarded by IIE and recognizes their achievements, progress and improvements in the last year. The OSU Chapter is one of 65 schools across the world receiving the award. Congratulations to the 2013-2014 Officers for all of their hard work and accomplishments!

Faculty and Students Recognized at IIE Annual Conference in Montreal

Faculty and students from the OSU School of Industrial Engineering and Management participated in the 2014 Institute of Industrial Engineers Annual Conference on June 2nd in Montreal, Canada and garnered numerous awards.

IEM Undergraduates Cinnamon Gerdes and Kaitlin Krause Honored at President's Leadership & Service Recognition Reception

Two undergraduate Industrial Engineering and Management students were honored at the President’s Leadership and Service Recognition Reception in April. Cinnamon Gerdes received special recognition as a CORD Recipient. CORD, Creating Opportunities for Responsible Development, which recognizes individuals showing an exemplary commitment to community service by serving 400 hours of service in their time at OSU. They are given an orange cord to be worn at graduation honoring their service within the community.

Industrial Engineering and Management students receive awards

Five students from the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at Oklahoma State University were recently awarded scholarships for the 2014­-2015 academic year. Diana Rodriguez, Esmaeel Moradi, Sam Cannon, Daniel Anderson and Connor Mojo were all recipients of awards from various national industrial engineering organizations.

Ian Giese wins 2014 IIE Student Paper Competition

Ian Giese's paper was selected as the winner of the 2014 Student Paper Competition organized by the IIE Process Industry Division. Ian entered the paper based on his summer internship work at Michelin's Ardmore, Oklahoma plant titled "Michelin Recyclable Material Planning Tool."

Ian will be receiving his award at the 2014 IIE Annual Meeting in Montreal, Canada during May 31-June 3, 2014. Ian is the current Vice-President and President-Elect of the OSU IIE student chapter.
