Professional Experience

Dr. Sunderesh Heragu serves as Regents Professor and Head of Industrial Engineering and Management at Oklahoma State University where he is also the Donald and Cathey Humphreys Chair. He previously worked at the University of Louisville as Professor and the Mary Lee and George F. Duthie Chair in Engineering Logistics in the Industrial Engineering department and was the Director of the Logistics and Distribution Institute (LoDI). He has additionally taught as Professor at both the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and held visiting appointments at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Technical University of Eindhoven and the University of Twente in the Netherlands, and IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Research & Teaching

Dr. Heragu's research interests are in the development of real-time decision support systems for emergency preparedness for the heathcare and public health and emergency service sectors, modeling and analysis of drive-through mass vaccination clinics, supply chain management, design of next generation factory layours, intelligent agent modeling of automated warehouse systems, application of RFID technology to improve intra-plant and inter-plant logistics, and integration of deisng and planning activities in advanced logistical systems.
