Demmel, Johann 'Hans'

Dr. Johann “Hans” Demmel graduated from OSU with his Masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Management in 1985. His career with Hughes (now Raytheon) afforded him the opportunity to build upon his Industrial and Systems Engineering background and interest in simulation, expand into software development, and ultimately have the opportunity to build a department within the engineering organization whose focus is on hardware-in-the-loop simulations. He recently retired from Raytheon as an Integrated Product Team Lead and Program Manager in Advanced Systems. He is also a Certified Raytheon Six Sigma Expert. Dr. Demmel is an active member of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), where he served as Senior Vice-President of Industry on the Board of Trustees and currently serves as the Chair of the IISE Council of Fellows. He is a Fellow of IISE and Tau Beta Pi. Dr. Demmel is a recipient of the IISE Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year, the IISE Fred C. Crane Distinguished Service Award, and the OSU Lohman Medal.  He is a Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Kate Gleason College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni and has been inducted in the OSU CEAT Hall Of Fame and the RIT Industrial and Systems Engineering Academy.
