Tay, Shy Ching (Distinguished Past Member)

Shy Ching Tay received his BSIE in 1993 and his MSIE in 1995. From a VP in the banking industry, Shy Ching made a bold move in 2005 to become a dedicated educator who founded CMA Mental Arithmetic Singapore. CMA was recognnized as the Best Teaching Institute by the Chinese Children's Abacus Association, Singapore's Best of the Best Enrichment & Learning School, Asia Pacific and Singapore Top Brands, among others. Shy Ching was the recipient of many awards including Singapore's Successful Entrepreneur, Singapore Business Guru, Top SME, and Top Educator. Besides leading 23 centers with 7,000 students in Singapore, Shy Ching was also instrumental in setting up franchise centres across Southeast Asia. He passed away in 2018 and leaves behind his wife, Chen Ching and two lovely children, Hannah and Samuel. His strong faith inspired many in the Christian community.
