IEM Welcomes Incoming Faculty

This upcoming Fall semester OSU IEM is excited to welcome two new incoming faculty members. Dr. Austin Buchanan and Dr. Farzad Yousefian.

 

 

 

Buchanan, Austin

Ph.D. Candidate

Assistant Professor -Fall 2015

B.S. –Oklahoma State University 2011, Industrial Engineering & Management

Ph.D. Candidate (expected graduation, August 2015) -Texas A&M University, Industrial & Systems Engineering.

     Austin spent three summers at the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Mathematical Modeling and Optimization Institute funded by AFSOR. His research focuses on solving challenging combinatorial optimization problems arising in networks. He currently teaches Engineering Economy.

 

Yousefian, Farzad

Ph.D.

Assistant Professor -Fall 2015

B.S. -Sharif University of Technology of Iran 2008, Industrial Engineering.

Ph.D in Industrial Engineering at University Of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

     Farzad is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Dept. of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State. His research focuses on development of scalable algorithms for applications arising from power systems and markets. He has served as a lecturer at UIUC and as advisor to a Silver Medal winning Sr. Capstone Projects in the 2014 James F. Lincoln Engineering Competition.
