Dr. Baski Balasundaram Receives 2016 Regents Distinguished Research Award

Dr. Balasundaram conducts research into developing theories and algorithms for mathematical optimization problems involving large-scale networks. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in journals, conference proceedings, and handbooks with his articles having been cited more than 500 times. He has secured more than $3.25 million in competitive research grants and is a co-principal investigator on a $950,000 National Science Foundation grant funding a new supercomputer cluster at OSU.

Fall 2016 Graduation Luncheon

IEM graduates, their families, faculty and staff got together on Saturday, December 10th 2016 to celebrate Fall graduation.  The department would like to congratulate the students on their success and thank everyone for coming.  Photos can be found here.

 

PhD student Babak Farmanesh - finalist in the QSR-INFORMS best paper competition

Babak Farmanesh, a PhD student in the School of Industrial Engineering and Management, was a finalist in the QSR-INFORMS best paper competition. The QSR (quality, statistics, and reliability) section is an interdisciplinary section of INFORMS, the Institute For Operations Research and the Management Sciences. It is comprised of members from industrial engineering, statistics, and business communities from different countries.

IEM student and OSU wide receiver Chris Lacy is “Not too cool for school”

Industrial Engineering student, Chis Lacy works hard and excels at whatever he commits to. He is pursuing an IEM degree as well as playing football for OSU. Lacy is #15 and wide receiver for Oklahoma State.

CEAT Chili Cookoff Friday, November 11th

There will be a United Way chili cook-off, silent auction, and raffle on Friday, November 11th, 2016 starting at 11:30am in the ATRC student Excellence Center.

Tickets are $5.00 at the door, a ticket will get you chili, entrance into the raffle, and pictures with Pistol Pete. There will also be a silent Auction. Proceeds go to United Way.

IEM Tailgate - Saturday, November 12th

OSU's School of Industrial Engineering and Management hosted an IEM Alumni/Faculty/Student Tailgate

Industrial Engineering and Management hosted a tailgate on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 11:30am at the ATRC Phillips 66 Plaza. There was food, and games, provided by IISE, Alpha Pu Mu, and Informs.
The tailgate was a success, with many people coming out to visit. The Cowboys won the game 45 to 44 against Texas Tech.

Students Inducted into Alpha Pi Mu

A number of students were inducted into Alpha Pi Mu at a ceremony on November 3rd, 2016.

IEM PhD student Saeed Piri wins second place in the poster competition at HDCC Research Symposium

Industrial Engineering and Management PhD student Saeed Piri won the Silver Award in the poster competition at HDCC (Harold Hamm Diabetes Center) Research Symposium.

IEM student's group wins first place at OSU CHSI Health Data Shootout

Industrial Engineering and Management graduate students Ankita Khurana and Rahul Sati won first place with their group Special Chai, “Health: A game of disease progression” at the OSU CHSI Health Data Shootout. The competition was hosted by Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Systems Innovation (CHSI) and was open to all majors. They were recognized on October 13th at the award ceremony.

IEM Students McKenna Morrison Awarded the IAB's First Scholarship

The Industrial Advisory Board members of IEM awarded McKenna Morrison their first scholarship in the amount of $1,350!
